About the Prof. Femi Onifade Memorial Foundation

The Prof. Femi Onifade Memorial Foundation (PFOMF) is a non-profit organization established in honour of the late Prof. Olufemi Sunday Onifade (1955–2024), a scholar, entrepreneur, lover of music, and advocate for the less privileged.

The Foundation carries forward his legacy of peace, education, entrepreneurship, community development, and human empowerment by creating opportunities for young people, women, students, and underserved communities.

Through scholarships, entrepreneurship and skills training, healthcare outreach, lectures, musical and creative programmes, and community-focused initiatives, PFOMF seeks to nurture talents, promote well-being, and create pathways for individuals and communities to thrive.

The Prof. Femi Onifade Memorial Foundation seeks to honour the legacy of Prof. Olufemi Sunday Onifade by empowering youths and women through entrepreneurship, advancing education through scholarships, promoting community health and wellness, and fostering dialogue in science, faith, music, and the arts.

About The Founder / In Whose Honour We Serve

Prof. Olufemi Sunday Onifade

1955 – 2024

Prof. Olufemi Sunday Onifade was a scholar, entrepreneur, lover of music, and passionate advocate for the less privileged.

He was deeply committed to nurturing talents, fostering entrepreneurship, promoting education, and improving community well-being. His life reflected a strong commitment to service, knowledge, peace, compassion, and excellence.

In recognition of his values and contributions, his family established the Prof. Femi Onifade Memorial Foundation (PFOMF) to preserve and extend his legacy through programmes that empower individuals and contribute to community development.

The Foundation seeks to ensure that his passion for education, entrepreneurship, health, music, faith, and service to humanity continues to positively influence generations to come.

Our Core Objectives

Entrepreneurship & Skills Acquisition

Promote entrepreneurship and skill acquisition among young people and women through training, mentorship, and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.

Education & Scholarships

Provide scholarships and bursaries to deserving students, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds, while encouraging academic excellence.

Health & Wellness

Promote healthy living through public sensitization, awareness campaigns, and community programmes that encourage physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Annual Memorial Lecture

Organize an annual memorial lecture and dialogue in honour of Prof. Femi Onifade, focusing on areas such as science, entrepreneurship, and health.

Music, Arts & Culture

Host an annual musical concert celebrating faith, creativity, and cultural expression while providing a platform for young talents.

A platform for participants and young creatives to showcase their work while receiving encouragement and, where applicable, financial support.

OUR FIRST 3-YEAR GOALS

Over the first three years, PFOMF aims to:

  • Launch entrepreneurship and skills-training programmes for 100 youths and women annually.
  • Establish a scholarship fund benefiting at least 20 students each year.
  • Organize community health outreaches in partnership with hospitals and NGOs.
  • Institutionalize the Annual Prof. Femi Onifade Memorial Lecture as a platform for meaningful dialogue.
  • Organize an Annual Musical Concert celebrating music, faith, and creativity.
