DESCRIPTION:The 23rd Edition of the Southern Kaduna Prayer Summit brought together traditional rulers\, clergies\, and hundreds of worshippers in a spiritually charged event aimed at fostering peace and unity. \nHeld in Kafanchan\, Kaduna State\, the summit included special prayers offered by monarchs to cleanse the land of afflictions and curses\, marking a hopeful new chapter for Southern Kaduna. \nParticipants emphasized the importance of unity among residents\, urging them to rise above tribal\, religious\, and ethnic differences to ensure the progress and development of the region. \nSpeaking as the guest speaker\, the Anglican Bishop of Kano Diocese\, Bishop Zakka Nyam\, shared an optimistic vision for Southern Kaduna. His remarks\, centered on the theme of the summit\, “Come\, Let Us Reason Together” (Isaiah 1:18)\, highlighted the need for unity and sacrifice as key drivers of prosperity. Bishop Nyam encouraged attendees to pray for their leaders to govern with fairness and equity. \nIn a message delivered by the Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly\, Barr. Magaji Henry Danjuma\, Governor Uba Sani praised the summit organizers for their prayers and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fairness and justice in resource allocation and project execution. He also appealed for sustained peace to enhance socio-economic development in the region. \nApostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure\, Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA)\, expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for recognizing Southern Kaduna after years of neglect by previous administrations. He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing security and appointing a son of the region as Chief of Defence Staff. \nApostle Kure announced that the 24th edition of the Southern Kaduna Prayer Summit is scheduled for January 24\, 2026\, calling on all stakeholders to work towards its success. \nSource: Vanguard

SUMMARY:EMPOWERING WOMEN IN OGUN COMMUNITIES
DESCRIPTION:Do you know that one in every 10 women is living in extreme poverty? If current trends continue\, by 2030\, an estimated 8 per cent of the world’s female population – 342.4 million women and girls – will still be living on less than $2 daily\, most (220.9 million) will reside in sub-Saharan Africa. \nAbout ten years ago\, @gendihq team stumbled on an improverished community of villagers in a hamlet (Sorrmekun village) in Abeokuta area of Ogun State. Held by compassion\, GENDI began several initiatives in that community. \nToday and about 10 years after the first encounter\, we partnered with @gendihq and other CSOs in Ogun State to empower women in the community. This is to complement previous efforts by GENDI and partners in the community and environs. \nDuring the engagement\, community members recall how several initiatives have brought life to the community from education intervention for children\, relief materials\, agricultural orientation and health interventions. \nToday\, we donated food\, clothing items as well as cash from resources pulled together by GENDI and partners \nThis gesture further shows @initiativeforpeacecomfort commitment to social development and comfort. \nLet’s join hands together to do good and reduce poverty in our societies.

DESCRIPTION:In Eastern and Southern Africa\, studies have shown that 42% of women suffer physical or sexual violence in their life time.\nIn Nigeria\, the incidence of gender-based violence (GBV) is growing astronomical with the activities of the insurgency in the North East. From forced and early marriages to the physical\, mental or sexual assault on a woman\, 1 in 3 Nigerian women have experienced physical violence by age 15 (NDHS 2013). \nMany feign ignorance to this facts while some try to cover up these acts in fear of societal concerns. \nIn partnership with @gendihq and other civil actors in Ogun State such as @officialnaptipnigeria National Commission for Human Rights we held a SILENT WALK AGAINST GENDER BASED VIOLENCE on Tuesday\, 29th of October\, 2024 at the Kuto Market\, Abeokuta. \nOur project manager @bmolaoluwa was there to join the walk. \nOur silence speaks volume showing that we condemn all forms of violence\, sensitizing women to speak up and not die in silence and finally encourage parents to pay close attention to their children. \nLet’s end Gender Based violence. \n#endgenderbasedviolence #genderbasedviolenceawareness #humanrights
